Welcome to our new website and the re-launch of the Harley Street Health District. This new look reflects the evolution of the healthcare landscape and our vision and commitment to ensure that the Harley Street Health District continues to support our existing and future partners as they provide first class health outcomes for their patients.
People have been coming to the Harley Street area to receive the best healthcare treatment available for over 150 years, and over that time The Howard de Walden Estate has gained considerable expertise in creating an environment that allows healthcare businesses and clinicians to thrive. One thing that has remained consistent throughout is change, as new innovations emerge, and new treatments are discovered. This is truer now than ever before.
Today, one of the greatest drivers of change is a desire for a ‘whole health’ healthcare system. One where technologies available to us are used in ways aimed at not just curing illness, but promoting good health and preventing illness from occurring.
This can be a challenge for a healthcare system largely set up to provide healthcare only once a person is ill, diseased or sick. Whole health requires the full spectrum of clinical facilities; diagnostics, specialist hospitals, super ambulatory and rehabilitation to work together more seamlessly to increase healthy living and not just extended longevity. This requires partnerships, specialisation and collaboration on an increased scale. We are increasing our commitment by facilitating collaboration between clinics, researchers and the all-important finance that unlocks the opportunities. We are taking a strategic approach to create measurable impacts on healthcare delivery and innovation among our healthcare partners.
Innovation requires finance to back a great idea and connecting HealthTech companies with venture capital is part of our vision. One example is Hale House, located on Portland Place; our first flagship buildings for health innovation and discovery, anchored by UCLPartners, one of the UK’s leading health innovation partnerships. Hale House is being delivered in partnership with Spacemade, the UK’s fastest growing flexible workspace operator. It is part of Howard de Walden’s commitment to making Portland Place a leading location for HealthTech start-ups and innovators.
In this rapidly changing landscape, the Harley Street Health District is not simply offering space; it is fostering a vibrant community, assisted by a fully engaged owner, that is dedicated to advancing healthcare on its estate. Our experience and impact in one of the best healthcare clusters in the world puts us in a great position to grow the Harley Street Health District for future generations.
Humanity demands better patient outcomes, and it is our aim to create a highly collaborative HealthTech cluster, with a thriving ecosystem, where startups, investors and supporting services can come together to reshape the future of healthcare for the better. We hope you will join us on the journey.
