IVF patients lead demand for new District integrated metabolic health service

Harley Street Fertility Clinic and Laser Medicine say their newly opened metabolic health facility is seeing strong early demand, with IVF patients making up the majority of current users.

The BAHI Health Optimisation Suite, based at 134–136 Harley Street, is described by the partners as the first UK IVF clinic facility to integrate a full metabolic health offering within a fertility clinic setting.

The venture marks a further expansion of Harley Street Fertility Clinic’s Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme, developed with Laser Medicine and delivered by photo-biomodulation therapy (PMBT) specialists and IVF gynaecologists. The programme combines low-level laser therapy with ovarian PRP and has attracted fertility patients over the past three years.

The suite offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy and whole-body PBMT. The partners say emerging research* points to potential benefits for fertility treatment, including frozen embryo transfer outcomes, egg quality and blastocyst quality. Laser Medicine said it plans to share its own outcome data with the wider IVF community as the service develops.

The suite is also open to patients seeking support for wider metabolic health concerns, including post-cancer recovery, post-surgical wound healing, age-related degenerative disease and neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury and stroke recovery. The clinic said it may also be relevant for children with autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy and genetic disorders linked to developmental delay.

According to the partners, the combination of light and oxygen-based therapies is intended to support mitochondrial energy and help regulate inflammatory markers. They expect around 40 patient attendances a month, with many patients completing a 10-session course before moving to monthly maintenance sessions, depending on clinical need.
